Company History
You can rely on 100 years of experience
In 1912 the cooper Georg Speidel started a factory making barrels. Initially, mostly wooden barrels for beer, wine and must were produced and sold regionally. In the 1960s, GRP production was added. Multi-purpose casks for agriculture and containers for wine and drinks were produced from glass fibre-reinforced plastic.
In the 1980s, stainless steel was added as a material. Increasingly containers were made of stainless steel for beverages. In 2004 GRP was replaced by PE and investment was made in one of the most advanced production plants for rotational moulding. Today Speidel is represented worldwide by specialist retailers.
